Winter Engagement | Vail Engagement Photography

Today on the blog, a wintry fun engagement photo session in Vail, Colorado. Vail is a place I work (planning weddings and photographing people) often and a place I love deeply. When Kat first called me to do a winter photo session with her and her girlfriend Kaitlin in Vail, I was of course excited.  Winter time is so special in Vail – the quiet serenity, the tourists enjoying the snow, the relaxed nature of the locals and the beauty of the mountains. There is a reason it has ranked so well on travel sites like Conde Nast and is home to Olympian Lindsey Vonn and Bachelorette Trista Sutter. All the buzz you have heard is right on. Vail has some of the best skiing, snowboarding, ice climbing and snowshoeing in the state. Summer isn’t half bad either!

Kat and Kaitlin were just my style. They were easy-going, funny, loving and adventurous. At no time did they say, “You want me to do what?” – I ADORE THAT. The “go for it” spirit of adventure is always my suggested way to approach life and engagement photo sessions. Colorado was having a cold spell that week and it was really cold that day (like well below zero cold) but they were game for anything. Even the sign that said mountain lion’s spotted in the area didn’t phase them. The shuffled through the snow, made snow angels and showed that even Denverites can manage the winter cold.
