Mountain Ranch Wedding, Colorado Dude Ranch 

These past two weeks, I’ve have been resurrecting a few weddings from back in the day before blogging was really a thing. This weekend wedding at C Lazy U ranch was quite the affair. I’ll be back at the ranch in a few short weeks for Lauren and Marsh’s winter wedding so I thought this was the perfect #TBT for this week.  Kelley + Kelly’s wedding shows us how a fun and memorable a weekend wedding event can be! In fact, it was featured in Modern Luxury Brides of Atlanta (Kelley’s hometown).

When you think of a wedding, you’re usually thinking about a one day event, right? But there are other, shall we say, better options. Most people believe that just because their friends and loved ones are attending, they’ll get a chance to spend time with everyone. The reality though is much different. You really aren’t going to get much quality time if any. There’s just so much going on. That’s why I’m in love with a full-on weekend affair! A little time to breathe – and – most importantly, precious quality time with your tribe.

So, it really doesn’t get any better than the epic weekend these two put together for their guests.

Weekend Activities Included, Bring Your Cowboy Boots

Enter C Lazy U Ranch in Granby, Colorado. Kelley and Kelly gave their guests that one-of-a-kind wedding experience. The kind with an all-inclusive package that really does include everything: award winning food, alcohol (yes, I’m not kidding), and all the activities a person could want. There was horseback riding, fly-fishing, archery, swimming, a luxury spa, mountain biking, 4×4 tours, yoga, and hiking: a weekend getaway meets wedding celebration. It’s also roomy enough to accommodate up to 90 guests on property in luxe cabins and homes.

As it turned out, Kelley, our bride, worked at the ranch as a children’s camp counselor during college. And she clearly never forgot the experience. And knew it would be a perfect location for her wedding. The ranch is beyond scenic. Our Atlanta natives combined this show-stopping, rustic setting with elegant details for a truly memorable outdoor ceremony. Kelley brought the elegance with a stunning Gavin Michaels’ gown accessorized with her mother’s cathedral length veil – and of course Jimmy Choo shoes. In a nod to the ranch-setting, the bridesmaids wore cowboy boots and knee-length, strapless dresses. Loved the men’s choice to wear tan chinos with navy blazers and light blue ties.

After the ceremony, the couple used the old-fashioned Ford flatbed truck (extra points if you know the year!) that’s on site as a unique prop for photos. When it was time for the party, they were carried off to the ranch’s lodge in, drumroll please…a mule-drawn carriage. There, guests enjoyed an elegant seated dinner and danced all night long. It was a luxury mountain ranch wedding to remember.
